Dear Shaded Viewers,
Following the unveiling of its highly anticipated ninth collection, RESIDUE, during Paris Fashion Week, Japanese fine jewelry house RIEFE JEWELLERY continues its Paris presence with an exclusive trunk show at Mad Lords, from June 27 to July 3, 2026.
Hosted at the renowned concept boutique on Rue Saint-Honoré, the week-long presentation offers collectors, buyers, and fashion insiders a rare opportunity to discover a curated selection of RIEFE’s archive pieces while exploring the creative universe of founder and designer Rie Harui.

Founded in 2018, RIEFE JEWELLERY has built an international reputation through its sculptural designs and its philosophy of “Beauty of Strength,” combining exceptional natural gemstones with meticulous Japanese craftsmanship. Every collection reflects Harui’s narrative approach to jewelry, where architecture, emotion, and personal experience converge.
Designer Rie Harui has also served as Artistic Director for Yohji Yamamoto’s jewelry collections since 2021, designing jewelry, accessories, and headpieces for more than twenty runway shows during Paris Fashion Week. This ongoing collaboration has established her as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Japanese jewelry design.
Diamonds occupy a central place in RIEFE’s creative language. Rather than being used solely as symbols of luxury, they are treated as integral design elements that interact with metal, structure, and light. Their placement is carefully considered to reinforce the narrative behind each collection, balancing strength with delicacy.

Every RIEFE piece is designed and handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans, reflecting the brand’s commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and precision. Beyond their aesthetic value, Harui’s creations are conceived as meaningful objects meant to accompany their wearer throughout life. Each jewel embodies a personal philosophy, expressing resilience, memory, and individuality, transforming jewelry into more than an accessory, but into a lasting symbol of purpose and identity.

The trunk show follows the Paris Fashion Week unveiling of RESIDUE, RIEFE’s ninth collection, an exploration of the invisible traces left by memory, travel, and human encounters. Through weathered textures, layered movable structures, and diamonds in nuanced tones, the collection transforms fleeting sensations into sculptural jewelry, inviting the wearer to experience time as something that lingers beyond memory.
I had the pleasure to talk Rie Harui while discovering the collection.

Where do you find inspiration for your collections?
Inspiration comes from many different places. Sometimes it’s architecture, sometimes contemporary art, and sometimes it’s music. I’m inspired by everything that surrounds my daily life—my thoughts, my emotions, and the environments I experience.
My Japanese heritage is also deeply rooted in my work. The atmosphere of Japanese temples, their spirituality, the quietness they evoke, and even the colours found in nature and traditional architecture all influence my creative process. Travelling is another essential source of inspiration. Every journey leaves impressions and emotions that eventually become part of a new collection.
How does that inspiration translate into your jewelry?
Each collection tells a different story. Rather than following trends, I create pieces that express a particular feeling or experience I have lived. Every collection is connected to a moment in my life, to a place I visited, or to the emotions I want to communicate.
My goal is not simply to design beautiful jewelry. I want people to understand the thoughts behind each piece. Every collection has a purpose and carries a message. In that sense, I’m not just selling jewelry—I am sharing an idea, a philosophy, and a way of seeing the world.

On June 28, RIEFE will also launch YAMIICHI at Lucid Interval in the Marais. Inspired by Japan’s postwar underground markets, the new curatorial platform brings together jewelry, art, music, and contemporary culture, creating a creative exchange between Tokyo and Paris. Conceived as a multidisciplinary marketplace for emerging ideas and artistic dialogue, YAMIICHI reflects RIEFE’s ambition to expand beyond jewelry into a broader cultural ecosystem. The evening launch event will feature DJ performances following the daytime preview of RESIDUE.
