Dear Shaded Viewers,
Last night Spanish designer, Luis de Javier’s designs graced a Parisian runway for the first time. Under the tutelage of Ricardo Tisci, his highly anticipated show took place at the iconic Espace Niemeye. By fusing his audacious vision with the refined aesthetics of haute couture and the rich tapestry of Spanish fashion heritage, de Javier is poised to redefine demi-couture style.
De Javier, known for his innovative use of fabrics, presented a collection that was a perfect blend of traditional Spanish elements with contemporary Parisian chic. The colour palette, dominated by neutral tones, was a visual feast. The intricate embroidery and delicate lacework, hallmarks of de Javier’s aesthetic, were showcased to perfection. The collection also featured sustainable materials, with high-quality fabrics sourced from renowned companies like Ecco Leather, Beglarian Fabrics, and Eyand incorporated into each design.
“In this new collection, I sought to honor both the essence of Parisian Haute Couture and the legacy of Spanish designers who have shaped its history. Drawing inspiration primarily from Balenciaga’s 1940s silhouettes, I aimed to pay tribute to the master’s profound impact on fashion. Simultaneously, I wanted to celebrate my own journey, acknowledging the pure, earnest spirit of my first London collection, which, despite my initial reservations, was a true reflection of who I was at that time. By blending these influences, I’ve created a collection that not only respects the grandeur of my inspirations but also embraces the evolution of my own creative identity,” said Luis de Javier.
Luis de Javier’s Parisian debut was a resounding success. The unmistakable influence of Balenciaga was evident in his designs, interwoven with modern elements. This rising star’s ability to blend tradition with contemporary style is a clear indication of his rising prominence in the fashion industry, cementing his status as a formidable force to be reckoned with.
