SACAI SS/15 – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Opting for a series of mini-shows -a rather pleasant way to discover clothes in a more intimate setting- Japanese designer Chitose Abe presented a gorgeous and convincing menswear collection, with many pieces to covet. The Sacai man is certainly not in your face, but he knows about the little details and notable quirks that can make clothes inspiring. Reinterpreting key military-inspired items and using a beautiful palette of blues, grays, whites and greens, Abe managed to strike the right balance between cozy sportswear and urban elegance. Her use of a graphic patchwork print -recalling the essence of cubism and offering a new take on camouflage- added instant energy to a tightly edited summer wardrobe, which many men will want to make their own.

Best,

Philippe
