𝜗𝜚 Clothing as a musical instrument
During her first exploration of combining textiles and ceramics — for her solo exhibition The Porcelain Body in 2024 — Lisa Konno discovered the beauty of the ticking, creaking, and jingling sounds produced when ceramics move around a body. In Figure, she continues her research into the many possibilities of these sounds. Her unique garments, crafted from textile and ceramic, evolve into musical instruments and simultaneously form the foundation of the movement vocabulary that choreographer Peter Leung created for the project.

𝜗𝜚 From means of expression to ceramic corset
In addition to the music and choreography, the narrative of Figure is also shaped by Konno’s creations. Through her garments, the audience is guided through a woman’s life journey, experiencing how her relationship with her appearance and beauty changes across the different stages of her life. The works also illustrate the various roles that fashion can play — from a means of expression to a rigid ceramic corset. When does fashion empower, and when does it oppress? And how can fashion have relevance without imposing ideals of beauty?”

IN SITU #2 FARIDA SEDOC – SOCIAL CAPITAL 🌍🏛️ “IN IN SITU #2 FARIDA SEDOC – SOCIAL CAPITAL 🌍🏛️

“IN SITU is an exhibition series in which the Stedelijk invites one artist a year to experiment in the mezzanine of the new building. Social Capital is Farida Sedoc’s response to this invitation. The work is a multimedia triptych that combines photography, screen printing, textiles, and graphic design. In it, Sedoc reflects on several things, including the dynamics of communities in a metropolitan context, and refers to the sense of connection, social support, and collective action that diverse communities foster. Social Capital thus questions the notion of defining capital solely in monetary terms.”

FONG-LENG & FANS | 60 Years of Fashion & Fame

“Fong-Leng has been a unique player in the Dutch fashion and design world for 60 years. Her colorful and extravagant fashion creations have always attracted a lot of attention and continue to inspire young designers to this day. They praise her daring, her figurative scenes, her phenomenal techniques, her attention to craftsmanship and her swirling pleats. There are also several fans who passionately collect Fong-Leng’s work.

Fong-Leng & Fans - 60 Years of Fashion & Fame demonstrates her influence on the Dutch fashion world through her own creations and those of other designers. Fong-Leng’s development from a fashion designer with great international success to a visual artist is also highlighted. She now translates the visual spectacle that her three-dimensional fashion once brought into two-dimensional works, on which she says she “paints with leather and suede. Fong-Leng & Fans - 60 Years of Fashion & Fame is a colorful journey through 60 years of aesthetic amazement.”

“With its first collection ZGENERATION welcomes you to a new world, where tensions emerge from in-betweens by blending past and future, everyday and couture, discarded and precious.
The label turns overlooked materials into objects of desire and performance. Between fashion and art, materials and bodies collide for a show voluntarily organized outside of Fashion Weeks: the brand wants to be alternative in her creation and distribution for a sustainable concern”
