Dear Shaded Viewers,

Castaneda presents ‘Canis Improbus’, Latin for “nasty dog”, though nothing here feels cruel. It evokes a small punk French poodle. And that is the point. In a world saturated with aggression, cuteness and kindness can be the most subversive gestures.

Every piece is made in the Paris atelier. Wool leads the story because it can be shaped and sculpted with precision. Plaids are patched and printed with eyes, pinstripes meet fleurs-de-lys and ribbons, and tweeds are mixed without fear. Even the crepe, full of small holes, feels intentional. Jackets, hats, and pockets quietly turn into poodles, playful but still sharp.

There is always humor here but it is precise, never careless. The classic codes of tailoring are respected, then gently disrupted from within. The show took place in a room covered in pink paper. A loop from Vivaldi’s Concerto in G played in the background, as a nod to the film Marie Antoinette by Sofia Coppola. The mood felt royal, slightly decadent, and kawaii.
