The LGN Louis-Gabriel Nouchi film presentation

Dear Shaded Viewers,

The LGN Louis-Gabriel Nouchi film presentation at Paris Fashion Week a few days ago marked a bold departure from the traditional runway format, embracing storytelling through animation to showcase the Spring/Summer 2026 collection. Held in the intimate, retro-futuristic cinema of Silencio—an avant-garde club designed by David Lynch—guests were welcomed with popcorn and champagne, setting a relaxed, cinematic atmosphere that contrasted sharply with the usual high-pressure fashion show environment.

Instead of models on a catwalk, Nouchi presented his collection via an animated film, a format that allowed for greater narrative depth and creative expression. This approach was not only a nod to his personal passion for manga and drawing but also a response to the increasing need for innovative presentation methods in times when many brands are rethinking costly runway shows. Naturally I am in favor of fashion films. The film was produced in collaboration with the Wizz production studio, further underlining the designer’s commitment to blending fashion with visual storytelling.

The audience reaction was notably positive, with the screening described as a surprising and intimate experience. The choice of venue and format reflected Nouchi’s desire for a less stressful, more personal connection with his audience after a demanding year that included designing outfits for the Paralympic Games’ opening ceremony.

The LGN film presentation was an inventive use of animation and its focus on narrative, offering a fresh, emotionally resonant alternative to the conventional runway and reinforcing LGN’s reputation for pushing creative boundaries in menswear.
