Paris Fashion Week has ablaze with creativity, but none more so than Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2025 show. Creative director Daniel Roseberry delivered a collection that was both an homage to the house’s surrealist legacy and a bold vision for the future.
A timeless wardrobe for women, Roseberry’s SS25 offering was a mixture of couture designs and contemporary flair. The collection experiments with vibrant hues reminiscent of Mondrian’s masterpieces, bold animal prints, lightweight fabrics, and effortless silhouettes. Ultimately versatile, each look was perfect for any summer occasion, from leisurely travel to glamorous evenings.
The collection was also full of reinvented classic casualwear with a touch of surrealism. Oversized knit sweaters, featuring dramatic silver zips, and blazers with exaggerated shoulder pads and cinched waists, created a striking contrast between comfort and power. Outerwear took on monumental proportions, with billowing collars adding a touch of theatricality. Even everyday staples like jeans, sweaters, and shirts were elevated to extraordinary status, thanks to Schiaparelli’s signature blend of unexpected proportions and iconic motifs. Elsewhere, accessories were elevated, with oversized gold earrings and sculptural belts serving as bold statements, not only complementing their designated looks but also reinforcing the collection’s timeless appeal.
Adequately titled ‘Future Vintage’, the collections’ theme transcended beyond the designs themselves, with the heart of the collection lying in the dedication of the women who brought it to life. As Roseberry acknowledges, “This collection, like all my work, owes everything to the women who brought it to life.” From the models who illuminated the runway to the artisans, seamstresses, and technicians who meticulously crafted each piece, the SS25 collection was a nod to the collective effort and passion of its creators.
