Dear Shaded Viewers,
Inspired by her heritage and a play on Jamaican hard food (which comprises of soft yams, dumplings and plantain) Bianca Saunder’s explored the dualities of external appearances and interior reality, hard versus soft.
Tailored outwear had subtly skewed proportions, knits had an 80s dancehall party feel to them and prints were bright and a play on traditions. Denim was also featured heavily with three full double denim suited looks. Bianca’s use of silks was also well considered for a simple, breezy summer look. It was a strong sophomore show and the progression from here will be enjoyable to watch.
