During ASVOFF 13 in Paris held at 35/37, the film director Antonio Contreras took a walk with the founder of ASVOFF, Diane Pernet. During the walk Antonio Contreras interviewed Diane about her past as a fashion designer in New York and how she founded the first fashion film festival in Paris back in 2006 called You Wear it Well, it became ASVOFF in 2008. The first edition was held in Los Angeles at Cinespace on Hollywood Blvd in August 2006 and at Jeu de Paume in Paris under the name ASVOFF in 2008.
