Jivika Biervliet is a 2010 graduate of the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht where she studied fashion communication. Biervliet searches for existing borders in order to exceed them. Her parents are from Surinam and she was born and raised in Holland. Her mother has indian roots so she grew up with the hindu religion exploring prayers and meditation as well as celebrating Holi phagwa. She is based in Arnhem where she designs one collection per year, this is her sixth.
