PATRICK DE PÁDUA – MODALISBOA SS/16 – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI PHOTOS BY RUI VASCO

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Part of the Sangue Novo showcase -which gives young designers extra visibility during ModaLisboa- Patrick de Pádua presented an alluring menswear show, inspired by lightness and American football. Mesh was the foundation of his collection, which he layered and mostly used in pure white, giving his models lots of breathing space. The designer enjoys reworking sportswear and utility shapes, keeping their manly look while adding more sensuality. Ranging from structured sleeveless jackets and baggy, transparent shorts, to featherweight hoodies and handsome bombers, he kept the silhouette fresh and contemporary, appealing to stylish urban types who like to look after their bodies. The glow of fluorescent yellow added dynamism to several outfits, echoing the energy of clubs in the 1990s.

Best,

Philippe
