PASS THE BATON KYOTO GION : TEA AND SAKE ROOM ‘ TASUKI ‘ BY PASS THE BATON – TEXT & PHOTOS BY SHOJI FUJII

Dear Shaded Vieweres

“ Omotenashi “ means hospitality in Japanese and Tea and Sake room ' Tasuki ' by PASS THE BATON is the place to experience it.

When I was at PASS THE BATON for the first time, there was a waitress from Tokyo who served me with the best “ Omotenashi ".

She was there for a week and already went back to Tokyo, but I would like to thank her here for her kind hospitality.

The tea room has quality Japanese tea including their original blend and traditional Japanese confectionery “ Wagashi “ served on antique tableware of which most are available to buy.

They also serve shaved ice with syrup “ Kakig?ri “, our Diane’s favorite dessert for summer.

The ice is made of water from famous Mount Fuji the highest mountain in Japan.

I had a grilled rice ball with shaded ice in tea with mini kaki g?ri with matcha flavor syrup which was absolutely refreshing and delicious in Kyoto's hot weather.
