Dear Shaded Viewers,
I’m happy to say that Vivetta will be the new guest designer at Giorgio Armani’s theater later this month. The Italian women’s fashion label founded in 2009 by young Vivetta Ponti will show its collection on Feb. 28 during Milan Fashion Week in the heart of King Giorgio’s headquarter. “My support to the new generation of fashion talents confirms that there are many young designers with different visions, each very personal and heartfelt,” said Armani. “A variety that brings hope to the future of fashion. It’s great to see enthusiasm, dedication and creativity. I wish Vivetta, whom I chose this season, a long, successful career.”?Vivetta, since its first collection dated back to 2009, had been one of the most prominent emerging designers and a favorite among young fashion editors, bloggers and celebrities of the likes of Leaf Greener, Leith Clark, Alexa Chung and Peaches Gedolf, who supported her career till this very big chance. Simple lines, clean cut, a special vintage twist and some sort of britishness define her quirky outfits. There’s something poetic about her work, depicting a delicate, funny and assertive femininity, from nostalgical elements of the past combined with hyper contemporary silhouettes and bon-ton patterns. Surreal elements are a must (she reminds me a little of Elsa Schiaparelli), like profiles of faces and hands that preciously decorate her dresses. Fresh elegance and irony meet the tradition of Made in Italy and high level sartorial skills.

Giorgia
