KTZ womenswear, fall 2014 – text by Silvia Bombardini

Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

His ever devoted retinue in the clubby underground scene hasn't stopped Marjan Pejoski, now for a few seasons at least, from successful ventures of extreme high-end joy. "Look at those KTZ-looking kids, we must be in the right place" whispered my friend later that night, as we neared the Sanderson hotel, where indeed a fancy After-Party was taking place. Lavishly, yet tastefully embroidered with the most exquisite mosaics of patterns, and rendered in the always covetable shades of white, black and gold, KTZ's individual pieces, the new collection's especially so, wouldn't look out of place in pretty much any situation you could find yourself in. That is, while still retaining their signature sporty, assured and powerfully urban appeal that whatever your background is, lets you know exactly what attitude you should wear them with. "Behind every great man there's a great woman", explains Pejoski, suitably vaguely, over dinner. Meantime, editors are having fun spotting the countless geographical and anthropological references that informed the season – Morocco was mentioned, and so was India. Truth is, KTZ might be the ultimate horizontal brand: as it endeavours to smooth and level any kind of hierarchy that there may still be left among its fans, be it one of gender or upbringing, so it looks for and finds its inspiration in disappearing cultures, beliefs and cults on the broader possible of global scales.

Later,
