Neil Barrett, fall 2012 – text by Silvia Bombardini

Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

Neil Barrett collection will be there next winter to warm us all with a stunning selection of snug and inviting oversized outerwear. Its lines are sharp and exact, clean and elegant nonetheless, drawing genteel, mid-century couture volumes above the comfortable shapes of our familiar sporty attires. The rigorous neatness of the designs reminds of the military origins of caban coats, parkas and bombers, while cocooning wool, silk crepe and cashmere soften their attitude with new and suggestive propositions in the shades of merlot, champagne and velvety black. And just a hint of gunmetal and copper details for a tiny, nostalgic taste of risk.
