Dear Shaded Viewers,
Inspired by Polynesia and its striking nature, Roya Hesam presented a beautiful collection yesterday, focusing on fluid lines and weightless fabrics. I liked the refinement of her pieces, as well as her attention to detail. The collection also had shades of orientalism, which I liked.
I went backstage to get a closer look after the show. The fabrics were luxurious and a silk blouse stood out. It was sophisticated, but easy to wear. Roya was born in Afghanistan, but studied fashion in Amsterdam.
I caught up with David Roth from Berlin TV after the show. With his turban and animal print shirt, he wouldn't have been out of place in an orientalist painting.
Best,
Philippe
