David Gil reports on Paris Mens Fashion Week – Ute Ploier and Dries Van Noten

Dear Shaded Viewers,

It is just as exciting as it is rare when goose bumps invade one’s creative conciousness during an economic crisis but this is exactly what Ute Ploier succeeded in doing with a translucent white simply structured organza shirt worn over slim trousers shaded by volcanic ash. The first silhouette set the tone of a contemporary collection that was completely in tune with our times. Rusted wool armour jackets were shaped like exaggerated kimonos, necklines on knitwear mysteriously levitated around the orbit of the head and the number one favourite is Ute’s own unique accessory ‘the boxing Mitaine’ definitely a must have.
