Dear Shaded Viewers,
Upbeat and uplifting, Lutz Huelle's last collection smartly played with the idea of sartorial deconstruction to create innovative and surprising garments, which underlined the designer's witty approach towards fashion. Raw and elegant at the same time, his clothes had a spontaneous appeal, despite their intricate construction and complex nature. His pieces often combined contrasting textures to generate new tensions, such as reassembled denim paired with bright sequins or silky pleats fused with sweatshirt jersey. Cutouts and zippers added graphic twists to classic staples, such as an oversize shirt dress worn under an unzipped black skirt and rather erotic thigh high boots. Huelle's use of primary colors was bold and self-assured, from the feminine strength of intense red to midnight blue and luminous yellow.
Best,
Philippe
