Dear Shaded Viewers,
What happens when the rules become too familiar? The graduating students of IFM’s Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design chose to play with them. Childhood, identity, gender, workwear, fantasy, and cultural references were all reassembled into collections that questioned the idea of conformity.
Twenty-seven students presented their final collections to open Paris Fashion Week under the patronage of Michael Rider, Artistic Director of CELINE. Each collection, composed of six fully accessorized looks, reflected a personal point of view while engaging with broader conversations around sustainability, inclusion, craftsmanship, and the evolving language of fashion.
What stood out was the diversity of approaches. Monumental proportions, hybrid materials, unexpected combinations, and thoughtful construction demonstrated both technical confidence and creative freedom. The show celebrated different ways of seeing the body, clothing, and identity.
Following the show, one student will be selected by Michael Rider for a six-month internship at CELINE, creating a direct bridge between education and professional practice.
Yours digitally,
Pedro
