Dear Shaded viewers,
The vast emptiness of the desert stands to be one of the strongest metaphors of infinite time. Sand stretching beyond the horizons, silence beyond what the eye can see, where the only way to know of a day’s passing is by the mercy of the sun disappearing to relieve the blistering heat. Emeric Tchatchoua explored these themes in his latest collection for 3.Paradis, who proposed a deep introspection into the illusion of time across streetwear, formalwear and beachwear.
Models slowly meandered through a room dusted in sand, in the very real and inescapable Parisian heat. The vibrancy of a saturated sunset shifted through daring orange and pink to deep blues, mixed with earthy tones. Desert-nomad-inspired accessories came together with fluid silhouettes, igniting a craving for exploration and adventure once the scene was set.
No detail was spared from the central theme, both literally and in surrealist interpretations: the measurement of time was represented through watch details and prints on outerwear, the circling of time with brand classics like stacked belt loops on jeans, the unraveling of time with loose draping and asymmetrical button details, and finally the disappearing of time with shirts that seemed to disintegrate and float away.
The flying doves of 3.Paradis returned, alongside delightful imagery from the beloved French children’s book ‘The Little Prince’, bringing the collection to life with a playful touch, a reminder that while time is impossible to truly grasp, it need not be feared.

Eliya
