LUEDER Reimagines Fashion’s Future with “The Shell”At Berlin Fashion Week photos by Finnegan Koichi Godenschwege

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Designer Marie Lueder unveiled her most provocative collection yet, transforming the runway into a cinematic landscape where dystopian drama meets haute couture. “The Shell” is a psychological exploration of modern existence, blurring lines between protection and vulnerability.

Drawing from underground rave culture, 19th-century tapestries, and the haunting aesthetics of forgotten castles, Lueder crafts a narrative of transformation. Her designs—featuring archetypes like decadent romantics and undead teenagers—challenge traditional fashion boundaries.

The immersive runway experience, complete with custom carpets and dramatic chandeliers, becomes a living art installation. Soundscapes of heartbeats and drone hums complement garments that speak to entrapment, surveillance, and radical self-expression.

Fresh from winning the Berlin Contemporary Prize, LUEDER continues to position itself at the intersection of fashion, social commentary, and avant-garde storytelling.
