Dear Shaded Viewers,
The Grand Palais in Paris is set to unveil a spectacular celebration of Italian craftsmanship and culture with the highly anticipated exhibition “From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce & Gabbana,” opening on January 10, 2025. This immersive journey into the world of Dolce & Gabbana promises to be a feast for the senses, showcasing the brand’s creative genius and dedication to artisanal excellence.
At the heart of this exhibition lies an impressive collection of over 200 one-of-a-kind creations, meticulously crafted by the skilled hands of Italian artisans. Visitors will be treated to a visual symphony of exquisite haute couture pieces, masterfully tailored garments, breathtaking accessories, and carefully curated furniture and antiques. The exhibition space itself becomes a work of art, encompassing approximately 1,200 square meters of scenography designed to transport visitors into the vibrant world of Dolce & Gabbana.
Curated by the esteemed Florence Müller, a renowned art and fashion historian, the exhibition aims to reveal the intricate journey from conceptual spark to tangible masterpiece. Müller’s expertise brings to life the creative process, allowing visitors to witness how the designers’ passion for Italian culture flows from their hearts, through their minds, and ultimately to their skilled hands.
More than just a fashion showcase, “From the Heart to the Hands” serves as an open love letter to the rich tapestry of Italian culture. The exhibition weaves together elements of classic Italian art, timeless architecture, evocative music, and cinematic heritage. These cultural touchstones are seamlessly integrated with Dolce & Gabbana’s designs, creating a dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation.

“Building on deep family traditions, Sicilian for Domenico Dolce and Milanese for Stefano Gabbana, the designers envision collections rich in artistic and cultural references drawn from painting, architecture, sculpture, interior decoration, or theater arts… Their creations are presented in emblematic locations in Italy as a spectacular homage to their sources of inspiration. Under their guidance, artisans take their trades to a new level, envisioning tomorrow’s innovations based on time-honored know-how. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have succeeded in realizing this dream because they are among the rare designers who are both the founders and the owners of their fashion house and thus free to do whatever they like. And one thing they love is to pay tribute to the passion of those who create beauty through the intelligent use of their hands.”
