To celebrate the centenary of Surrealism, Paris Photo invites filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist Jim Jarmusch to curate a selection of works at the fair, which will be on display at the Grand Palais from November 7 to 10, 2024. The artist will also participate in a public conversation.
The film “Return to Reason,” which brings together four newly restored Man Ray films for which Jim Jarmusch composed the original music with his band SQÜRL, will be screened as a preview in two theaters in Paris during the fair. The public release is scheduled for November 13.
“Surrealism, a central influence for Jim Jarmusch and celebrating its centenary this year, finds a particular resonance in the selection he has curated for the fair. His selection opens a dialogue between cinema, music, and image.”
Florence Bourgeois, Director of Paris Photo
