Dear Shaded Viewers,
London based, Chinese designer, Feng Chen Wang presents a SS25 collection that transcends boundaries of time. Drawing inspiration from the beauty and craftsmanship of ancient artefacts, showgoers were left to envision a traveler weaving through history, as Wang unearths the essence of timeworn objects and translates them into a collection that is both contemporary and futuristic.
The collection unfolded like a story, transitioning from a somber mood to one infused with practicality and perfect for everyday wear. It opened with a series of office-appropriate looks in shades of grey. Teal ties added a pop of colour, while utilitarian jackets with pockets, netted polo shirts, and distressed cardigans offered a touch of functionality and edge. Elsewhere, gradient denim outerwear and matching cargo pants transitioned dramatically from beige to white.
Deconstructed suiting gave the collection the avant-garde feel it needed, with models sporting a head-turning look: four pairs of rectangular sunglasses, one stacked on top of the other.
As the show progressed, the collection took a turn towards Wang’s signature looks. Double-waisted, dip-dyed denim with asymmetrical seams felt familiarly Feng Chen Wang, paired with layered button-downs and pixilated graphic tees featuring abstract globes. Just when you thought you had the it all figured out, eight final looks emerged. Models stomped down the runway in slow motion, clad in sleek and sophisticated eveningwear. But the real showstopper? Cream, brown, or black rubber shoe covers that added a final layer of surprise, showcasing Feng Chen Wang’s diverse design vocabulary for SS25.
Later,
