Upgraded Workwear From the Heart for MOSSI SS’23 | Words by Nafiseh Soolari

Dear Shaded Viewers,

As we’ve come to learn, street style is replete with layers and layers of history, heritage, and culture. The latest collection, “Les Ripeurs,” disrupts the symbolism of uniforms through the use of intimate narratives. All the silhouettes are inspired by the daily life of a single man, designer Mossi Traoré’s father. It is a story of a hard-working man serving his community in the 18th Parisian arrondissement. His uniform was that of a single garbage collector. This story inspired the designer to address hierarchy and how clothes camouflage the essence of a human being. To take it and converge the concept into privileged basics is at the core of his collection—a crisp white tee-shirt, tailored suit, jeans, and parka. We invite you to consider the story, a reminder that fashion brings more than meets the eye.
