Even thought the brand Jarel Zhang has been around since 2016, it is new to me and I must say even though it was not the best to be programmed the last day of Paris Fashion Week between Chanel and Louis Vuitton, Jarel Zhang, the designer born in China certainly knew he could shine. Despite the enormous budget spent on the Louis Vuitton show I found this video held its own. The collection, the film, give a futuristic vision of our world. It’s a mix of streetwear and luxury for the post apocalyptic world we seem to be entering or living in right now.
“We were inspired by a world after its destruction, the organisms are reborn and the reproduction is relaunched in the new-born world. All these new living things take care of this new world together”, explained the designer.
Jarel Zhang graduated from the Northumbria University and has Master in Textile Design from the Chelsea College of Art and Design.
