Dear Shaded Viewers,
I went to the VIP Preview today of AAAAHHH!!! Paris Internationale. The last time I was in the old Liberation building was in the hot summer for a Dries Van Noten menswear show. It was on the top floor and I thought I was going to melt. Today in Paris was comfortably warm and here are a few things at the exhibition that stood out to me. Paris Internationale is in its third edition and supports a young generation of galleries and their artists. For a little history lesson, Liberation, a newspaper co-founded by Jean-Paul Sartre in 1973 in the wake of the Paris protest movements of May 1968 was based in this location for almost thirty years.
Paris Internationale welcomes 55 galleries and is the initiative of five emerging galleries – Crevecoeur, High Art, Antoine Levi, Sultana and Gregor Staiger. As a colelctive they attempt to develop an appropriate model for fostering new advanced initiatives in contemporary art.
11 rue Beranger 75003 Paris
public opening hours: Oct 18 to Sat 21st 12 pm – 8 pm and Sunday October 22: 12 pm – 6pm.
