FASHIONCLASH 2017 – GIOIA SEGHERS – PHOTOS BY TEAM PETER STIGTER

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Based in Brussels, Gioia Seghers is a womenswear designer who graduated from the renowned La Cambre Mode[s] and launched her own brand shortly after. Working with high-end materials and aiming for timelessness in her shapes, the Belgian designer crafts delicate and confident clothes that explore the key contradictions of contemporary women, oscillating between utility and refinement, fragility and strength. Using her signature eyelets on tops, coats, pants and jackets, Seghers likes to invent transformable garments, which can be worn differently throughout the day. A woolen collarless jacket featured sporty drawstrings, while a fluid red dress gently draped at the front, underlining a gentle sense of femininity. The designer’s color palette was both muted and warm, including brown, black and red, as well purple and midnight blue. Seghers sells her collections worldwide and her take on minimalism is both attractive and self-assured.

Best,

Philippe
