FASHIONPHILOSOPHY FASHION WEEK POLAND SS/16 – JACOB BIRGE – PHOTOS BY MIKE PASARELLA

Dear Shaded Viewers,

If Jacob Birge has a penchant for predatory women, they seemed slightly more subdued this season, with an unusual sense of softness defining their clothes. Draping was key for the Polish designer, as well as Art Nouveau inspired cutouts and geometric patterns, which Birge used in unexpected ways. His tailoring was minimal and sharp, mainly focused on strict-looking collarless jackets, and he often stuck to a monochrome palette in order to avoid any fuss. Dresses were strong, ranging from sexy cocktail numbers to more streamlined styles. He also reworked his favorite animal prints to create daily staples that were mostly inspired by the male wardrobe, from fitted biker jackets and prim shirts to turtlenecks and full pants.

Best,

Philippe
