Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
Galerie Gmurzynska in Zurich is launching a new exhibition from October 3, 2015 to January 30, 2016 featuring the work of avant-garde artist Joan Miro.
As one of the front-runners of the modern art movement, Miro created art that reflected the time. The exhibition will provide an opportunity to see these works together and analyze political and social changes in art and society.
The exhibition features the abstract and surrealist work that Miro created in Paris and Barcelona from the mid-1920s until the 1970s. The pieces include paintings, mixed-media works, sketchbook drawings, sculptures and more.
There will also be previously unpublished photographs which Miro’s grandson, Joan Punyet Miro, helped curate as well as an essay by art historian Joachim Pissarro.
