Sunday night, I was at the first of seventeen films that I'll be seeing at this year's New York Film Festival.
It was a sneak preview of director Ridley Scott's new film "The Martian".
It was in 3-D, which made it even more entertaining.
The film stars Matt Damon as one of a group of astronauts on Mars who gets left behind when the crew thinks he died in a storm.
Well, he's still alive and has to survive until a rescue ship can be sent to retrieve him.
There are a lot of funny moments, the special effects are good, the cast is terrific and it's overall a very enjoyable film.
Before the screening, director Ridley Scott – plus cast members Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Mackenzie Davis & Sebastian Stan introduced the film.
The film's lead star, Matt Damon sent a video greeting to the festival while on film location in Europe.
Tomorrow: I'll be seeing two films. "Mountains May Depart" by the great director Jia Zhang-ke and "The Forbidden Room" by directors Guy Maddin & Evan Johnson. I'm really looking forward to both of them !
