Dear Shaded Viewers,
I visited Riga in November for the exhibition at the Latvian Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. While there I saw a prototype for the huge block of a book containing their sketches, stills from films and their collections dating back fo 2005 to 2019. In 2008 ASVOFF screened their film Detective at Jeu de Paume and the year before after meeting them in Riga I proposed that they submit their collection to the festival d’Hyeres. They won three prizes. Their work encompasses fashion, media, music, literature and art.
While I was in Riga we had a great dinner with Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel, the curator of Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art (RIBOCCA 2). Mareunrol’s will be participating.
