Sibling womenswear, fall 2015 – text by Silvia Bombardini

Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

Whether or not one wants to appoint it to an influential-despite-it-all Moschino show, shades of Barbie pink previously cautiously sidestepped were ventured this season, on and off the catwalk. Joe Bates, Sid Bryan, and Cozette McCreery however, hardly needed any further push: mastering as they have been right from the start the most audacious and multicoloured knitwear of our days. Echoing this time a peculiar moment of girls' adolescence few of us will remember without blushing, the mostly pink and black palette, tempered with painterly accents from the work of Francis Bacon and Verner Panton, clads the glamorous dreams of some candid small town young lady. Surely inspired by the words of Blondie, she's way more charming in her missteps than you and me had been at the time, and there's really no faulting her for it: a genuine restlessness of impending womanhood translates in fur trims and buttoned-up twinset, but also the “sex shop shine” of Latex: to sweeten ever so slightly, one way or the other, SIBLING's indomitable punk heart.

Later,
Silvia
