Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
I’m doing a short series on five designers who’ve been designing professionally for 5 years or less, and whom I think will do some interesting things this year… First was Desert Designs, and now I’d like to tell you about Mads Dinesen.
Danish designer Mads Dinesen has been creating beautiful and haunting clothes since 2011. He explores the human condition and social engagement through his work, always with a tone of poetry, eye on spirituality, and a sense of continuity. His work spans beyond garments and into a multidisciplinary world of video, instillation, illustration and art. He is currently working on a collaboration with artist Jorinde Voigt for an upcoming exhibition at the Lisson Gallery in Milan, as well as his new collection that will be at Void Showroom in Paris.
