A chat with Mike Figgis about his film Love Live Long

Dear Shaded Viewers,

As you know by now I am a huge fan of the work of Mike Figgis. What I discovered through my friend Vincent Gagliostro is that in 2007, Mike made a film, Love Live Long,  that took place during the Gumball Rally, 3,000 miles in 6 days… The film is not really about the race but about the intimate encounter between two strangers. You can buy the film in the states on iTunes but in Europe it is a bit more difficult to get a hold of. Funny thing is that in 2006 when Mark Eley of the brand Eley Kishimoto commisioned me to make a road movie of his menswear launch it was by participating with him in the Gumball rally. The link between Mike's making a film during that race and that  race being the impulse behind You Wear it Well, my first fashion film festival in collaboration with my LA contributor at that time, made a funny coincidence.
