In ASVOFF 2010, Alex Prager won the Best Art Direction Prize for Despair. Despair depicts a woman in a state of enchantment who is compelled to enter a strange and powerful red door that alters her life forever. Focusing on the female characters emotion of despair, Prager creates a sense of uneasiness and mystic. The film, like Prager’s still photographs are beautiful on the surface while having an underlying complexity to it. I've been a fanof her work ever since.
