Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
Fashion week feels like a lifetime away, but now that this divine new website of ours is up, I'd just like to tell you today about 3 shows that deserve a last minute mention. First, Peet Dullaert.
Peet Dullaert’s Spring/Summer collection was shown at the residence of the Ambassador of the Netherlands, and was presented by Vogue Netherlands and supported by the Woolmark Company. With this in mind, I had pretty high expectations.
The collection was soft and feminine, with lots of silk in soft pink, blue and lavender. The strongest pieces were made with what looked like a washed taffeta, whose incessant creases acted to stop the collection from being overly feminine, and gave it a modern feel. Dullaert’s merino wool dress and t-shirt-cut top were also lovely and simple, and were a nice breather from other pieces that were perhaps a little overembellished.

The venue didn’t quite overshadow the collection, though the interior, along the beautiful flowers, were certainly distracting…
