Some snapshots from Berlin (and a glimpse of my room at the Lloyd in Amsterdam). Photos by Glenn Belverio

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I left Berlin this morning and am now at the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam. Wanted to share some views from the Humboldt Cube and some others.

And here is my prison-chic room at The Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam. I love the open shower. The building was an immigrants hotel in the ’20s, then a Nazi prison, then a boy’s prison. The sea-green tiles out in the hallway are absolutely divine. They were painted by bored 12-year boy prisoners after the War.

And now I’m going to try out the shower and have some bitterballen at the Cafe de Cantine (which has an historical relationship to the hotel) next door.

Ciao,

Glenn Belverio
