Dear Shaded
Viewers and Diane,

Fred Butler
does fashion the way she would do music. With devotion and joy, overlapping melodies
and airy textures, a precise composition and the unpredictable thrill of
sentiment. This season, once more for Red Bull Catwalk Studio, she
teamed up with London based producer Two Inch Punch and his very own Lovestep new genre, to compose an original
soundtrack for her London Fashion Week presentation and glowing fashion film. A Bee In My Bonnet, With A Honey Hair Comb
invites us into the lustrous depths of the beehive, through its spontaneous
geometries and sweet, glazed wonder. Patiently embroidered golden hexagons become
then earrings, headphones, bumbags or backpacks, while oxeye daisies are worn
in wreaths as crowns or around the waist. There's something royal and something
urban, precious and clever in Fred Butler's Hip
Hop Honey Bees
, who wear latex underwear and baseball caps. Working with The Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Fred has designed a
special edition key ring to be found exclusively on her blog and their
homepage, to help the urgent cause of the declining number of bees within our
cities.
