Goodbye NYC and a huge thank you to the Persol team and congratulations for an amazing exhibition all about obsessive search for perfection in craftsmanship in both cinema and ….the fabrication of the perfect glasses

Exhibition 9 Todd Haynes

Exhibition 7 TOdd Haynes

Dear Shaded Viewers,

If you have been following the blog you know that I've spent the last 48 hours in NYC as a guest of Persol. I've been here for the event last night at the Museum of the Moving Image: Persol Magnificent Obsessions. The idea of the exhibition was to compare the 30 steps that it takes to make a pair of perfectly crafted Persol glasses with the stories of obsession in the craftsmanship in film.Over a period of 3 years, Michael Connor, the curator of the exhibition, chose 10 films each year to portray obsession and craftsmanship in the making of films. Above are little hand made drawings by Todd Haynes for Far From Heaven.
