Short trip to Shanghai by Akiko Hamaoka

Dear Diane, Dear Shaded viewers,

I was in Shanghai – just for 2 nights last week. As it was my first time, I was just walking around – taking taxis (taxi fare there is extremely cheap!) to go as many places as possible.

I had no idea how much I felt that I might be in Europe – except the fact I see chinese caracters everywhere.

Just walking around the ciy is nice – there are many oriental planetrees. It is very refreshing even the temperature and the humidity in the summer are very high.

LOVEd the bathroom – amenity was my favorite Aromatherapy Associates.

I wanted to see the train station – where all the fast trains depart for all the cities in China.

Shanghaista
You have to have the train ticket to enter the station – and there is even an x-ray scan for the luggage!

So many people were waiting for the train…

I do not know it is because I am into Korean right now, I realised that there are a lot of influence of Korean culture. All the small boutiques at Jing'an area carry clothes from Korea.

2 nights were not enough – but long enough to get the essence of the city.
