As part of the month of photo in Paris, ORLAN has her 4th personal exhibition at the Michel Rein Paris Gallery. Remember Tilda Swinton sleeping in a glass box in the Modern Museum in NYC in 2013? Here is ORLAN in 1979. The current exhibition is a study in draping and the Baroque. The performance at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice in 1979 lasted between 2:30/3:00 hours. At one point she was on all fours in a circle of white flour. After visiting this exhibition if you have not already seen ORLAN EN CAPITALES at the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie (MEP), it is up until June 18th. And…like the title of her massive exhibition at the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie, if you are ever referring to ORLAN please pay attention…ORLAN must always appear in capitals.
