The first comprehensive overview of 40 years of RIchard Serra's drawings is currently on exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Drawing has always played a crucial role in the investigation of new concepts and new creative methods. Through some fifty drawings and a selection of sketchbooks, the exhibition presents the evolution of Serra's drawings fromthe early 1970's- when he worked primarily on paper with traditional mediums such as ink, charcoal, lithographic crayon to the mid-70's when he turned to black painstick, a crayon comprised of
