Luigi Ontani, till 22 september, Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Roma by Chiara Sabatini

Dear Diane, Dear Shaded Viewers,

For anyone who goes to Rome before the 22nd September I recommend going to see the exhibition of one of the most eccentric and visionary Italian artists.
To celebrate the awarding of the prestigious Prize “Presidente della Repubblica” the Accademia di San Luca has invited Luigi Ontani to create an exhibition featuring works from each period of his career, from the tableaux vivants of the early 1970s to his recent works exhibited here for the first time.
The beautiful spaces of Palazzo Carpegna from the helicopter ramp of Borromini to the large rooms on the third floor becomes an experience in the Ontani’s universe.
The exhibition, entitled SanLuCa҆stoMalinIc҆onicoAttoniTònicoEstaEstE᾽tico, shows us the extraordinary journey of an eclectic and multifaceted artist using his own body as the subject of his art, through drawings, sculptures, paintings and installations.
My advice is not to miss it.
