Dear Shaded Viewers,
French designer Guillaume Henry revived the house of Carven, making it cool and relevant again. The collection he presented yesterday -inspired by the 1940s and the strict elegance of uniforms- confirmed his ability to keep his finger on the pulse. The Carven girl has a bit of a militant soul this season, wearing military-inspired shapes and neutral colours, with shots of mustard and plaid. Dresses were strong, with pronounced shoulders and asymmetrical hems.
I loved the retro pumps and platform loafers, designed in partnership with Robert Clergerie.
Best,
Philippe
