Dear Shaded Viewers,

It takes quite a lot of courage sending out an ultra-minimal, completely pared-down collection of beautifully tailored pieces during what has been a rather cosy Milan season so far. Raf Simons stuck to his guns at Jil Sander: flat leather boots, long bare legs and great skirt suits and dresses in plaid or tweed. It was razor-sharp, slightly futuristic and a bit confrontational, too. The girls reminded me of double agents and powerful androids.
