Erika Keck is one of the most promising in a rash of new painters sweeping the NYC art scene. Some have compared her to Francis Bacon and although I agree they are somewhat on the same tip, Keck has an undeniable, at times confrontational style all her own. Densely layered both physically & mentally, her work elicits a range of emotion, some of which sock you straight in the brain with an almost twisted yet utterly divine pleasure. If you're in NY on Saturday June 13th, do yourself a favor and check out her one night only show at Envoy Enterprises 131 Chrystie St. @ 9pm. I promise you won't regret it.
