L.A. based sculptural taxidermist supreme. artist Liz McGrath had a stellar first showing in NYC last night at Sloan Fine Arts @ 128 Rivington St. Fresh off several successful Cali shows and part time fronting her own band, the very correct Miss Derringer, McGrath crafts sculptural tableu that often incorporates animals taken to insane extremes, looking preserved yet ready to pounce all at the same time. Miniaturized madness taken to twisted life time extremes, McGrath takes the viewer on a visual trip where the imagination is stretched into a suspension of disbelief. The show was so crowded you had to almost push people out of the way to see all good shiz. Liz is one of the sweetest girls i've ever met and her retroized punk-a-billy couture was perfectly accessorized with a can of PBR. Work Girl- Walt Cessna
