She LL Project a traveling art installation – Shari Pierce

Dear Shaded Viewers,

She LL Project (she will, shell) is a traveling art installation of texts and donated dresses from sexually assaulted women and children. She LL was created to evoke healing, prevention, create awareness and break stereotypes commonly associated with sexual assault, abuse and harassment. At each location, new women are asked to share their stories and donate their dresses to the project. As the exhibition grows and travels internationally, She LL will flourish to hundredseven thousands of powerful and symbolic dresses exhibited around the world.

For the past year, Shari Pierce has been working closely with Debbi Kutner, an American therapist and victims advocate, to help find the first She LL project participants. 12 women and girls that she has counseled and represented in court, agreed to come forward and share their stories of sexual assault . As of today there are a total of 14 participants that were victims of sexual abuse from the ages of 10-65 and 5 participants that know someone that has been sexually abused and/or supporters of this project.

Starting in Munich, Germany the first exhibition is at Lothringer. 13 (http://lothringer-dreizehn.com) Contemporary Art Space. Exhibition dates March 3-29th. She LL Project is sponsored by Pierre Lang Designer Jewelry. (Shari won the Pierre Lang "So Fresh" European Jewelry Award in 2007).
