David Gil reports on Paris Mens Fashion Week – Adam Kimmel and Jean Paul Gaultier

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Short, mute cinematic studies documented the landscape of the subject's face and were created by Gerard Malanga for the Adam Kimmel fall/winter collection. Fabrics and silhouettes were revived from the original art work shot from '63-'66 portraying the players from Andy Warhol's factory.

Adam Kimmel

Who but Jean Paul Gaultier could break the non-existing laws of fashion? With energetic enthusiasm he proposed trans-generational tuxedos and suits. Who but JP could demolish gender identity and age? Masterfully he blurred  masculinity under afro wigs and a beret. Parachute straps wrapped around trousers and jackets, simple sweaters had white gladiator sleeve open knit inserts. And, yes, Monsieur Gaultier like your models going down the runway with a glass of champagne, we all toast to your health, because the show is you.

Jean Paul Gaultier
